Community & culture

Writing, reading & literature

In this evening workshop, you’ll examine texts from a range of queer and trans Australian writers from genres including narrative nonfiction, fiction, memoir, arts criticism and poetry.

You’ll experiment with different writing styles and practice describing complex feelings and uncertainty to create nuanced, authentic characters.

You are encouraged to discuss the value of developing a creative community and seeking literary forums that centre LGBTIQA+ perspectives.
