The Pride Centre and  Queer Yoga Naarm present a four-week yoga inspired movement series centred on connection, embodiment, accessibility and joy. This program aims to create a welcoming, inclusive space where participants can gently explore movement, deepen their mind-body connection, and build community through shared experience and post-class conversation.

Each Tuesday evening will include:

  • 60-minute accessible yoga class
  • 10-minute guided meditation
  • 20 minutes of relaxed social time with tea and chats.

Sessions are designed to be trauma-informed, body-positive, and adaptable to diverse bodies and abilities.

Classes are wheelchair accessible, and participants practising in a wheelchair will be offered modifications that are accessible. Everyone is encouraged to listen to their own body and move in a way that feels right for them.

Importantly, our classes are infused with a sense of play and light-heartedness. While yoga is often seen as serious or rigid, we believe it can also be joyous, playful and fun, especially in Queer bodies and spaces. Expect gentle laughter, moments of curiosity, and permission to show up just as you are.

Tuesday 2nd September:

Yoga: A gentle, grounding practice introducing the breath, basic shapes, and what it means to inhabit the body with presence. We’ll explore foundational principles while creating space for curiosity and play.

Meditation: Body scan to anchor awareness and presence.

Tuesday 9th September:

Yoga: This session targets areas of tension with playful movements, gentle stretching and guided breath. Participants are encouraged to explore what feels good, rather than aiming for “perfection.”

Meditation: Breath-focused meditation to soften holding patterns

Tuesday 16th September:

Yoga: Focusing on grounding and support, this session helps create space in the lower body through simple sequences, invitations to move with freedom, and use of blocks.

Meditation: Grounding meditation to connect with steadiness and inner support

Tuesday 23rd September:

Yoga: A slower, nurturing practice that draws together elements from the previous weeks. Reflection, rest and a sense of humour are all welcome here.

Meditation: Loving-kindness meditation to close the series with compassion
