A bike ride beginning at a cafe close to Altona Station, following the Bay via Williamstown to Footscray, then linking to the Capital City Trail to get to lunch at the Great Northern Hotel in Carlton North.

GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: A “gentle medium” grade ride of around 29 km to lunch. There are many train station bailout options if needed. Most surfaces will be sealed and there are no real hills.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: We’ll depart from The Forestta, 60 Pier Street, Altona at 10:25am. From the cafe we’ll ride along the coastal trail, then the Capital City Trail, for lunch at the Great Northern Hotel, 644 Rathdowne St, Carlton North.

After lunch, there are many options to either catch a train (e.g. from Rushall, Royal Park, Jewell or Parliament Station) or to cycle home.
