SUMMARY:FABLE
DESCRIPTION:Irish folklore\, drag and gender. Banshees\, wailing\, lip-syncing\, fairies\, shapeshifting\, mischief.\n\n\nFABLE is a physical theatre\, dance\, drag show that delves into Irish storytelling and queer identities\, finding the intersections of folklore\, fairytales\, ritual\, gender fluidity\, drag and sexuality. \nIn Irish folklore\, the renowned fairies are magical and ethereal as seen as descendants of the Tuatha De Danann\, the supernatural gods of Ireland. But they are also troublemakers\, mischievous and gritty\, and an activist symbol of Ireland’s pre-colonical\, pre-Christian/Catholic identity. FABLE draws Ireland’s fairytales to explore this juxtaposition of whimsy and tragic\, lightness and darkness\, escapism and activism. We draw similarities between these fairytales and queerness – how queer identities and culture live and thrive between these binaries and the acknowledgement of queer existence in indigenous storytelling\, pre-colonial structures.\nFABLE honours ancestral and queer lineages and connections. \nFABLE is part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026.

SUMMARY:Big Diva Energy
DESCRIPTION:What Happens when a Mother manifests a gay son? A camp-AF musical cabaret. Big Vocals\, Bigger Confessions and the Biggest D…iva. If Shirley Bassey and Liza Minnelli gave birth to a bold\, brassy twink\, Will Skarpona would come tap dancing out of that womb. Big Diva Energy is an unapologetically camp\, delightfully authentic musical cabaret – a memoir of a 21-year old self-procclaimed diva\, featuring iconic hits from Madonna\, Tina Turner\, Chappell Roan and more. BDE explores what it means to live authentically in a world that demands conformity. Equal parts glitter and grit\, this is a celebration of resilience\, self-expression\, and owning your spotlight. Fresh from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Music Theatre degree and a Dobell Foundation Cabaret Award to his name\, Will Skarpona is ready to weaponise his BFA in his Melbourne Fringe debut. Expect belt-it-to-the-back-row vocals\, unhinged confessionals\, and more sequins than a Real Housewives reunion. Crack open the Grey Goose – you’re in for one very entertaining night. \nBig Diva Energy is part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026.
