Event Description

Join us at the Testing Grounds’ Testing Night to record your place in queer history!

Queer-ways: Retracing Melbourne’s Queer Footprint is a collaborative community art project by LUCIANO and Georgia Keats, in partnership with the Australian Queer Archive (AQuA).

Working with AQuA, we are mapping sites significant to Melbourne’s queer history. This initial data will be enriched with stories directly from our queer community, creating a snap shot of queer life in Melbourne up until the year 2021. Our project is currently seeking community submissions of locations and stories significant to your queer experience. We’ll be at Testing Grounds 6-9pm adding our community’s stories to our digital map.

So tell us your story, whatever it is.  Did you have a queer awakening? Or maybe a significant experience that made you the queer you are today? Where did it happen? All stories are welcome, big or small, from the past or present.

If you cant make it to Testing Grounds to share your story, visit  www.queerways.melbourne to add your story to our map or read our communities stories in the City of Melbourne.
