Take Up Space Festival

About

We are holding a festival on Saturday 18 June for young adults aged 18 to 24 who live, work, study or play in Melbourne’s west.

A day of workshops on healthy relationships, bodies and pleasure, mental health and learning skills for job applications!

The festival is for young migrant, refugee and LGBTIQA+ communities to Take Up Space in their sexuality, wellbeing, stories and careers, and to be linked to appropriate services for ongoing support.

Sign up for three of the workshops throughout the day, then join community ambassadors Najma Sambul, Lev Lu, Jacob Tiauli and Carly Findlay for a panel discussion.

You’ll hear their thought-provoking and insightful discussions about how they have ‘taken up space’ in their professional and personal lives. We are giving away goodie bags to the first 100 people that attend the panel discussion!

The festival is FREE to attend but you must register for the workshops (only 30 spots available in each workshop).

If you need support with public transport costs to get to and from the festival, we can help! You can let us know when you register for the workshops.

Join the workshops, hang out in the communal space, enter the website writing competition, network and chat!

This festival is part of the Take Up Space project. Read more about the Take Up Space project and festival, and register for the workshops at: www.takeupspace.org.au

The venue is wheelchair accessible. You can contact us before the event if you have different accessibility needs.

The festival is proudly supported by Brimbank City Council and Brimbank Youth Services.
