An iconic bookshop and vital institution for queer culture founded in 1991, Hares & Hyenas opened in Commercial Road, South Yarra, before having other outlets in Fitzroy and Collingwood. In 1999, Hares & Hyenas consolidated its business base back in Commercial Road, before moving to its Johnston St premises in 2006 and finally the Victorian Pride Centre in 2021.
