Biography
Initially beginning her career in education, Belinda took a leap into nursing and fell in love with the depth of the human experience and resiliency of the human spirit. After a fulfilling nursing career, Belinda answered a call to become a Minister of Religion. Having held roles as a church leader and chaplain, Belinda’s focus shifted to supporting and advocating alongside the marginalised and oppressed in society. She specialises in Family Violence education and support, and currently sits on the state team for her denomination’s youth support services. Belinda’s public speaking experiences range from small gatherings to key note addresses at large conferences. Belinda is passionate about full inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Church at every level, and is currently furthering her studies in the field of counselling in order to support those who have experienced trauma related to engagement with the Church.
Experience
Belinda’s style of engagement is warm and relaxed and has lead to opportunities to speak in both small and large group settings, as well as delivering key note addresses at conferences. “If asked to pick a highlight, I would be hard pressed to do so. Every opportunity to connect with others is a source of delight. Whether on a small scale or some grand event, when we have a shared passion and vision for inclusion we can change the world, even if we’re only changing the world for one person.”
