Overview
The RISE in Pride Program marks an exciting new chapter for the Victorian Pride Centre, bringing together the long‑running Telling it with Pride Speakers Program (TiPS) and the inaugural Producing with Pride Initiative (PPI) under one unified banner. Together, these programs champion LGBTIQA+ storytellers, artists, and emerging event producers across Victoria, fostering skills, confidence, and community leadership.
- Telling it with Pride Speakers (TiPS) Program: The TiPS Program supports emerging LGBTIQA+ speakers to develop powerful, authentic storytelling skills. Through a three‑month training journey, participants receive tailored guidance in narrative craft, public speaking, and audience engagement. Graduates may be invited to join the Victorian Pride Centre’s LGBTIQA+ Speakers Bureau, amplifying their voices across Victoria to promote understanding, empathy, and inclusion.
- Producing with Pride Initiative (PPI): PPI nurtures the next generation of LGBTIQA+ event producers where participants can gain hands‑on experience in event planning, arts and cultural management, creative direction, and community‑centred production practices. With mentorship from industry professionals, PPI creates pathways for emerging producers to design and deliver events that elevate diverse queer voices and strengthen Victoria’s cultural landscape.
Why RISE in Pride Matters
RISE in Pride brings together two complementary programs to build a stronger, more connected future for queer storytelling and creative arts production in Victoria. By supporting both speakers and producers, the initiative helps cultivate a vibrant ecosystem where LGBTIQA+ stories are created, shared, and celebrated. Expect more events at VPC and beyond!
