The Red Tag Fly Fishers is a recreational fly fishing club based in Yarra Bend Park Fairfield. We provide a welcoming, friendly environment and a safe space for all members. We love fly fishing! And we are keen to share our passion with the LGBTIQA+ community so you can discover its joys and benefits.
Proudly supported by the City of Yarra, we are hosting a ‘come and try’ day for the LGBTIQA+ community this IDAHOBIT.
You will be guided through fun activities designed to introduce you to the amazing world of fly fishing including an introduction to equipment (think – rods, reels, flys, nets), fly tying and casting. We want folks to get a taste for fly fishing and start their fly fishing adventures with us. Down the track, we can show you how to catch (and release) a rainbow (trout that is!)
There will be prizes and giveaways and you can enjoy a light lunch.
All equipment will be supplied, so come along and try your hand at casting a line, tying a fly and checking out the gear – dressing up is half the fun!
