Craft Social: Hydrodipping for Beginners with Anther
June 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

This event will be half social chats with a bunch of like-minded queer people and half fun, educational and interactive workshop. It’s part of a series of queer socials happening at the Victorian Pride Centre for Pride Month in June.
Hydrodipping is a design technique done by using water to float paint so it can transfer onto a 3D object as you dip it in.
Popularly done on anything between car parts, water bottles and device cases using spray paint.
What will we cover?
In this class we’ll be:
- Learning how to thicken water to make acrylic paint float
- Priming, pre-painting and preparing objects for hydrodipping
- Marbling paint to create a design that floats on the water
- Dipping the object into the paint film, transferring the design onto your object
You may bring an object that fits within the dimensions of an A4 paper, and can be immersed in the water.
(If something has a lid, please bring it as it will make it easier to dip after protecting.)
Eg: water bottle, airpod case, small plant pot, phone or gaming console hardcase, jar, Christmas baubles, etc.
Otherwise there will be a selection of various objects to use and bring home.
