Come worship at the altar of divas!

A photographic collaboration with queer femmes and the sun. Harmonising the channel of cyanotype as both ritual and process, the work explores the act of queer self-portraiture as a radical practice of self-reclamation and embodied power, honouring the sacred Queer Femme.

Queer femmes are an essential part of the ecosystem that sustains our community. In their diversity, strength, and fluidity, they embody the resilience of those who move through the world with quiet yet powerful grace. These femmes, whether seen or unseen, hold the layers of both defiance and tenderness that make them extraordinary forces of nature.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Brontë is an Artist , Doula and Creatrix dreaming and swimming on Kombumerri/Yugambeh Country (Gold Coast).

Brontë’s practice is rooted in pleasure as a guiding force — pleasure in colour, in connection, in imagination, in the act of creating itself.

Brontë’s works emerge as dreamscapes that blur the edges of the present with visions of the future, saging what is to come and allowing it to blend into the here and now. These dreamscapes invite audiences to soften, to feel, and to open to the possibilities of a life infused with sacred rage, wildness, beauty and joy.

Working across video, text, textiles, and sound, she layers mediums to create kaleidoscopic worlds of sensation and presence. Recent collaborations with holistic and spiritual healers have expanded her explorations into colour therapy, grounding audiences while also shifting their energy toward vibrancy and renewal.

Brontë’s work often turns toward birth — both literal and metaphorical. As a doula, she honours the thresholds of all birthing people, and within her art practice she explores birth as a continual process of becoming: the seeds of pregnancy and gestation, the birthing of ideas, communities, chosen families, and futures. She infuses her practice with the magic of femme queer ways of knowing, bringing softness, play, camp revelry and power into every layer of her work. Her art is therefore not only about representation but about transformation — an embodied reminder that every act of creation is a form of arrival. With influences from her work as a doula, DJ, and curator of gatherings/experiences, Brontë extends her practice beyond the gallery into collective spaces of celebration, healing, and play.

At its heart, her work is an exploration of how art-making can open portals — dreamscapes that teach us to live more pleasurably, more connected, and more attuned to the futures we are already calling into being. Brontë in each offering is inviting us to dream with our eyes wide open!
