Pride Month

Writing, reading & literature

Join us for an evening celebrating the release of King of Dirt, as award-winning author Holden Sheppard sits down in conversation with acclaimed writer Christos Tsiolkas.

Holden’s first two novels, Invisible Boys and The Brink, received multiple awards, with Invisible Boys adapted into a ten-episode television series that premiered on Stan Australia in 2025. His latest work, King of Dirt – his first novel for adults – is a gritty and heartfelt gay coming-of-age story exploring love, fatherhood, masculinity, addiction, family, and the search for hope after profound loss.

‘King of Dirt is like heavy metal – it hits hard. Jack is a terrific character, vivid and honest to life. I roared through this book.’ – Christos Tsiolkas
