IDAHOBIT Love is Love Mural Competition
April 29 - May 31

Join us in celebrating love and support for the LGBTQIA+ community through art!
In support of IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia) on May 17, we invite all young people in our community to contribute a piece of artwork to create a mural at each branch, reflecting their perception of love, acceptance, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
How to participate
Use the IDAHOBIT Rainbow Heart as inspiration, interpreting it in your own creative way.
Express yourself through a painting, drawing, or digital art.
If you choose to submit a painting or drawing, you can
collect a canvas from any branch to work on at home and return to the library once complete
create artwork during programs like Chill & Chat
work on your artwork in the library – some branches may provide a designated space
Please ensure your artwork includes your name, age, contact details, and library card number if you are a Brimbank Libraries member.
Who can enter
This competition is designed for all young people aged 14-25 years.
Prizes and Judging
A $50 voucher will be awarded for the best artwork from each branch.
Art pieces will be judged by a Brimbank City Council representative from Arts & Culture and our Brimbank Youth Support and Inclusion Officer & LGBTQ.

Entries close: 31 May 2025
