PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE IN THE ORIGINAL EVENT INFORMATION RE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT TRAVEL ON THE 11th JANUARY–DETAILS BELOW
GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Grade 2: Moderate 8 km circuit walk (graded according to the AWTGS: Australian Walking Tracks Grading System).
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: Just 150 years ago, Drouin was part of the Great Gippsland Forest. Despite overlogging, some of the giant eucalypts have survived within the current residential boundary of Drouin and today testify to incredible height, girth, age, habitat and historical value.
In addition, early pioneers planted superb elms, oaks, planes etc of substantial age, plus wonderful avenues of trees planted from the 1960s.
We will enjoy an afternoon tea/ coffee / cold drink near the station at MIDDELS to complete the walk.
