Join Dr Catriona Nguyen-Robertson for a fast-paced session designed to help you introduce yourself with confidence, communicate what you bring to the table and make more meaningful professional connections.

Catriona is a Lecturer in Science Communication at the University of Melbourne and an award-winning science communicator and educator. She specialises in taking complex ideas and making them engaging and accessible — and teaches the next generation of researchers how to communicate their work to different audiences.

In Pitching Yourself: Networking Without the Awkward, she’ll share practical ways to talk about your skills and experience, develop a simple personal pitch, start conversations and take some of the discomfort out of putting yourself out there.

Then it’s time to put it into practice. The session leads directly into the Pride in Employment Careers Fair networking session, giving you the opportunity to use what you’ve learned and connect with employers, professionals and other attendees.
