Writing, reading & literature

The best in queer literature to fill your bookshelf!

– Queer Book Fair
11am – 3pm
This is your one-stop-shop for uncovering the best and most locally written works from the LGBTQIA+ community. Along with the amazing array of works from Hares and Hyenas, and second hand books from the Australian Queer Archives, you’ll also have the opportunity to peruse individual writers stalls and meet them personally.

– Youth Workshop
11am – 3pm
The gamified workshop for youth to fuel their creative writing. This drop-in workshop is a chance for young people to connect whilst creating short stories that will be featured on Q-Lit’s website. Open to those ages 12 – 24, we’ll roll the dice and flip the cards to inspire a creative explosion onto the page.

– Panel: Queer Books that Shaped Generations
3pm – 4pm
What books capture the beauty, pain and romance of queer culture?
Queer stories have helped us take the first step out of the closet, rally for a safer future and document our communities achievements. This panel offers an eye opening discussion about the most influential queer books as voted by you, the readers! Q-Lit’s reader survey results will be revealed live at this event!
Hosted by Christos Tsiolkas, with Jes Layton and Charlee Brooks.
