As the Winter Solstice approaches and we reach the longest night of the year, this gathering offers a space to slow down, turn inward, and meet the quieter, less visible parts of ourselves and the season.

Winter is a time when life retreats underground. Growth slows. Energy is conserved. What is alive is not always obvious from the surface. This workshop is shaped by that rhythm, inviting rest, reflection, and gentle attention to what sits beneath everyday awareness.

We will explore shadow work in an accessible, supported way, turning toward what is hidden, protective, tender, or not yet fully known. Across mythic traditions, this time of year is also associated with descent and return – journeys into darkness that are part of transformation rather than opposed to it.

Through nature connection, creative process, guided reflection, mythic storytelling, and ritual, this workshop offers space to move between inner and collective experience, with care, choice, and spaciousness.

We honour the ways queer communities have long found meaning, connection, and refuge in liminal spaces; in night, in nature, in hidden or in-between places, and with one another.

    What to expect

    • Grounding arrival and guided reflection
    • Solo time in nature noticing winter’s hidden or resting life
    • Creative exploration of winter, shadow, and slowing down
    • A simple group process
    • Closing ritual marking the Winter Solstice

✨ Light refreshments and art materials provided

No art experience needed. This is a neuro-affirming, trauma-aware workshop. Participation is always invitational, and you are welcome to engage in whatever way feels supportive for you.

Come as you are, and join us in marking the Winter Solstice through creativity, nature connection, myth, and queer community, gathering with curiosity and care.

Standard ticket: $40 (+ Humanitix fee)
