Pride Month

Queer Social Leathercraft Basics presented by Laneway Learning poster with date, time and location for Pride Month

Join us for Queer Social at the Victorian Pride Centre, where social chats with like-minded queer individuals blend seamlessly with engaging, creative workshops. Led by Laneway Learning and facilitated by talented queer instructors, these workshops are designed to spark inspiration and foster self-expression.

Discover the art of Leathercraft! In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of leatherworking while creating your own unique and sustainable leather pouch.

Using 100% repurposed leather, you’ll be guided through all aspects of this project, from creating the initial pattern, to stitching and embellishing, to create your own one-of-a-kind leather pouch that reflects your personal style.

Leather is a very durable and useful material. There’s rarely a reason to throw leather away! Learning how to make a simple purse is a great step in realising the wider potential of repurposing leather to get the very most out of the long lifecycle of this material.
