VPC Co-presents

The Air is Electric in Conversation poster with date, time and location presented by the Australian Queer Archives

Join us for an enriching afternoon of dialogue, insights, and inspiration as we delve into the profound intersections of art, activism, and identity showcased in our current exhibition at the Pride Gallery, ‘The Air is Electric’ by David McDiarmid and the Australian Queer Archives.

Embark on a journey through LGBTQIA+ history and culture as we explore and reflect on an inspirational journey of discovery experienced and visualised by David McDiarmid on his first trip to the USA.

Guests include:
Dr Ted Gott is Senior Curator, International Art, at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne and curated David into the seminal exhibition Don’t Leave Me This Way: Art in the Age of AIDS, staged at the National Gallery of Australia in 1994.
Dr Sally Gray is an independent scholar in art, design and urban studies and an inter-disciplinary creative in the visual arts. She was a long-time friend of David’s and is executor of his estate.
