Aftercare (Mind Australia)

About

Mind Australia operates an Aftercare program offering support to people who are LGBTQIA+ and are having thoughts or intentions of suicide.

The Aftercare team consists of peer support workers and counsellors who are knowledgeable about LGBTQIA+ identities and the issues and challenges faced by the community. Aftercare offers recovery-focused, short-term (up to 3 months) practical outreach and counselling-based support to help you, your chosen family members and other important people in your life to find inclusive and affirming care and strategies for moving forward.

All staff in the Aftercare team are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This is a free service, for more information and a referral form visit: https://www.mindaustralia.org.au/aftercare

Aftercare is funded by North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWPHN).

We are a part of Mind Australia, who are registered as a: Not-for-profit.
