About

Located in the inner south-eastern suburbs, and with a focus on working with LGBTQIA+ clients, Curious Psychology was founded by Dr Justin Olstein. His therapeutic philosophy centres around understanding how relational dynamics contribute to common concerns that clients face. Justin’s therapy is compassionate, individualised, and guided by an interest in exploring how our past experiences shape our present-day concerns. He primarily draws upon psychodynamic and schema therapy approaches to help clients build a detailed and nuanced understanding of their relational selves.

Justin has a wealth of experience working in public mental health settings, as well as in private practice, and has particular experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients.

He works across the gamut of psychological disorders, and assists adults with various concerns including: trauma, attachment issues, emotion regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, substance-related issues, family and relationship concerns, mood and anxiety concerns, sexuality exploration/identification, gender dysphoria, body image, minority stress, sex/intimacy concerns, cultural identity, grief/loss, and adjustment-related issues.

Dr Justin sees both individuals and couples (18 and over).
