Since 1985, we have provided a friendly and supportive environment for all LGBTIQA+ people.

Only a few years after the very first Mardis Gras march in Sydney, at a time when homosexuality hadn’t been decriminalised everywhere in Australia just yet, Melbourne Spikers was formed by a group of incredible queer women as a safe space for members of the LBGTIQA+ community to play social volleyball.

Today, Melbourne Spikers continues to be committed to providing an inclusive space.
Our club remains welcome to everyone, regardless of their sexuality or gender identity, and we’re proud of the community we’ve established.

Cultural diversity is also a strength of our club, with our members representing more than 40 different cultural backgrounds.

We are a not-for-profit club run by a committee of dedicated volunteers.

Our sessions include social games and training for all levels.

We are registered as: Incorporated Association.
