Talking with Pride
About
A FREE social support group for LGBTIQA+ young people (15-25) who have experienced family violence.
Talking with Pride is a place to talk about relationships and family experiences including chosen family, family violence, and to understand how being queer, trans, and/or gender diverse can shape these experiences. You’ll find support from peers, share stories, express yourself creatively using art materials, and explore what safety, belonging, and community mean for you.
Through the group, you can:
- Build confidence, and self-worth
- Feel seen, valued and supported
- Increase community connectedness
- Share experiences
- Reduce isolation, stress and anxiety
- Strengthen coping skills
- Learn more about the dynamics of family violence specifically relating to LGBTIQA+ experiences
This group is:
- LGBTIQA+ affirming
- Trauma-informed and strengths-based
- Non-judgemental and peer-focused
