Biography
Brad Cresswell is a disability advocate, speaker, and community leader who uses his lived experience as a queer young person to educate, empower, and create safer spaces for others. After leaving school due to severe bullying and discrimination, Brad built a career centred on inclusion, belonging, and visibility — becoming the person he needed when he was growing up.
With over 11 years in the disability sector, Brad has developed adventure services for adults with disabilities, social clubs for young people, and university programs for autistic adults. He has worked in children’s respite, served as a teacher aide in special schools, volunteered in children’s hospitals, and now runs social and fitness programs for teenagers and adults with Down syndrome.
Brad volunteers at the Victorian Pride Centre, reads the news on JOY Media, and has spoken at the World Down Syndrome Congress as well as universities on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, diversity, and disability awareness. His mission is to amplify the realities, challenges, and strengths of both the queer and disability communities — and to help young people feel seen, safe, and celebrated for who they are.
Experience
Brad volunteers at the Victorian Pride Centre, reads the news on JOY94.9, and has spoken at the World Down Syndrome Congress as well as universities on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, diversity, and disability awareness.
