Biography

Tathra Street is a leadership futurist with over 30 years of experience. As a neurodivergent, queer woman, Tathra brings an intersectional lens to her work, empowering inclusive leadership as a speaker, facilitator and consultant. She is known for her fresh take on leadership, creating safe spaces for challenging topics and for innovative social cohesion and leadership development programs.

She has extensive experience in community leadership and governance, working with a wide array of organisations including trans health, cultural groups as well as public sector and progressive businesses, startups and social enterprise.

Tathra's journey has taken her across continents, hemispheres, decades, and paradigms. She has a holistic approach that is inclusive, mindful and forward-thinking. Her style is engaging, down to earth, and, where suitable, interactive. She loves working with groups who are ambitious, conscientious and purposeful. Her work aims to prevent future harm and to inspire fresh futures with a sense of agency and empowerment.

Experience

A seasoned facilitator and speaker, Tathra’s first public talk was at age 12. She works with groups and supports others to share their stories. Now in her 50s, Tathra is coming back to sharing her own stories about the past, present and visions of a brighter future. In 2023 she was invited to speak as a futurist at a business network in Melbourne's west. She has been part of the Mother Tongue Poetry community in various capacities, including Board Chair, open mic poet, co-host, and program participant. She is currently the co-chair of the Community Reference Group of the Victorian Pride Centre and facilitated the pilot of the Telling it with Pride Speakers Program.
