Queer By Nature: Free Winter Workshop

Step into a space of connection, reflection and creativity in nature as we celebrate Pride Month and one year of Queer By Nature! This FREE offering for LGBTQIA+ folx weaves together nature-based practices, guided meditation, creative artmaking, and collective ritual in a relaxed outdoor setting in beautiful Plenty Gorge Parklands.

Over the past year, Queer By Nature has grown as a gentle invitation for community to gather outdoors, slow down, and reconnect with self, others, and the more-than-human world. This special anniversary gathering continues that thread, offering a spacious and inclusive environment to explore belonging, creativity, and presence in nature.

This workshop invites you to:
• Reclaim nature as a space of queerness, fluidity and belonging
• Take part in a sensory “mirror walk” to reflect your inner world through the landscape
• Connect with your creativity through accessible, intuitive artmaking
• Ground into the elements with guided meditation
• Contribute to a collective nature-based artwork

Please bring

• Journal and pen
• Water bottle
• Warm, comfortable clothing
• A camp chair and anything else to support your comfort (optional)

This gentle and playful space is designed for all bodies, all abilities, and all levels of experience with art or nature connection, including none. Participation is always invitational, and you are welcome to engage in whatever way feels right for you.

The workshop will only be cancelled/postponed in the event of extreme weather. If you find that you can no longer attend, we would kindly ask you to update your availability so that other may join. Come as you are, dress for the weather, and bring your brilliant queer self!
