Innovative technology firm Splunk signs on for third year as Official Partner of Victorian Pride Centre

Publication date: March 31, 2023

The Victorian Pride Centre (VPC) is pleased to announce the renewal of its partnership with Splunk Inc., the cybersecurity and observability leader, for a third year.

Splunk helps organisations prevent security, infrastructure and application issues from becoming major incidents, absorb shocks from digital disruptions, and accelerate digital transformation. Splunk’s mission is to build a more resilient and safer society.

Splunk’s partnership with the VPC offers LGBTIQ+ communities the opportunity to benefit from Splunk’s Global Impact work, specifically social impact, which is committed to driving resilience through strategic giving, impact investing, product donation and workforce development.

In 2021 and 2022, Splunk and VPC with IBM staged two public panel discussions on the topic of LGBTIQ+ people working in the tech industry, which provided the community with insights and pathways to working in tech, regardless of whether one has a tech background or not.

Public events such as these have provided an invaluable opportunity for Splunk and VPC to connect with students and graduates in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses and other early career practitioners from LGBTIQ+ communities. The events saw an 80% attendance rate with 164 people registering.

The Victorian Pride Centre thanks Splunk for its valued financial contributions to the ongoing operations and sustainability of the Centre, and looks forward to continuing a strong partnership.

Justine Dalla Riva, CEO Victorian Pride Centre:

“The Victorian Pride Centre’s partnership with Splunk has seen how we can elevate the focus on LGBTIQ+ participation in STEM and the importance of inclusive industries. Through our ongoing collaboration, we can reach and engage new audiences, and facilitate events that focus on the role and possibilities of technology for LGBTIQ+ people.”

Simon Davies, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Splunk APAC:

“At Splunk, we prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to ensure our employees are supported to be their best, most authentic selves so that they can do their best work and thrive. Our continued partnership with the Victorian Pride Centre is an extension of our long-standing commitment to LGBTQ+ equality and to advancing LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusion in the workplace and beyond.”
