Seeking Volunteer Members for the Pride Centre’s Visual Arts Working Group
The Victorian Pride Centre seeks volunteer members to program visual arts at Australia’s first purpose-built LGBTIQ+ Centre.
The VPC will provide opportunities for visual arts and archival display through programming, exhibitions in its Pride Gallery, and display of art across a range of other suitable spaces in the VPC. The VPC’s visual arts programming has a focus on art by LGBTIQ+ artists and/or art that focuses on, or has relevance to, LGBTIQ+ issues.
The Visual Arts Working Group
The role of Visual Arts Working Group (VWG) is to support the VPC in delivering a visual arts program that:
- reflects the diversity of the LGBTIQ+ community
- is a catalyst for informed dialogue both within the LGBTIQ+ community and with the wider community
- encourages visitation to the VPC
- engages with the broader visual arts network in Melbourne and Victoria
The VWG will make recommendations to the VPC on professional exhibition management, inclusive visual arts practice and programming and undertake the necessary operations, in collaboration with the VPC Venue Manager, to execute visual arts programming in line with industry standards and best practice.
A Terms of Reference (ToR) will guide the operations work of the VWG.
