Meet Liza,
Liza Dezfouli is a queer Melbourne-based comedian, speaker, and performer who uses humour to explore trauma, neurodivergence, and queer identity. A survivor of family violence and childhood abuse, she speaks candidly on healing, masking, and recovery. With a background in ESL, creative writing, and arts journalism, she’s also been active in community housing and health literacy advocacy. Liza co-founded Sex Work Law Reform Victoria (SWLRV), promoting sex work decriminalisation, and has served on peer advisory groups. A writer, singer, and actor, she has performed widely, including in unHOWsed. In 2024, she won the Darebin Mayor’s Creative Writing Prize.
