The Pride Centre marks its first year anniversary

Marching at front of Pride Centre

Monday 11 July, 2022

It has been one year since the Victorian Pride Centre officially opened with a flag raising ceremony on the roof and a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Mama Alto.

The opening of the centre was the culmination of the passion, skills and dedication of so many community leaders and organisations that came together to create this hub for collaboration and connection.

“We have seen such a positive embrace of the Pride Centre in its first year. People have laughed, cried, made new friends, but most importantly, have been able to be their authentic selves here. I am excited by the future as the centre continues to be key part of bringing our wonderful communities together.”

– CEO of the Pride Centre, Justine Dalla Riva

Since July 11 last year, the Pride Centre has become a hive of activity with 14 resident organisations on board, a diverse program of exhibitions and activations, and a bustling calendar of event bookings. We can’t wait to see what the next twelve months brings!
