AIS Support Group Australia (INTERSEX)

About

The AISSGA is an intersex peer support, information, and advocacy group for people born with variations in sex characteristics and their families. We advocate for and provide peer support to our members and the wider intersex community, focusing on the lived experience of having intersex bodies that physically differ from stereotypical notions of male and female.
The AISSGA has representatives for each state and territory around Australia and in Aotearoa/New Zealand. We provide one-on-one and group peer support to online, over the phone, and in person.  We connect intersex people of all ages and their parents with one another, provide in-hospital patient advocacy, assist with referrals to allied health professionals, provide information and training, and advocate for positive change to meet our member’s needs.  We host an annual conference exclusively for folks with any intersex variation, partners, parents, and families.  We also foster intersexy pride, build community capacity, and deepen culture.

We are registered as: Charity.
