With Bi+ Visibility Day just around the corner, BiCONIC has something extra special planned this year!

Since our launch in 2018, BiCONIC has built a thriving bisexual+ community in Sydney, hosting almost 40 parties! But Sydney’s bisexual+ scene has a rich history, and this year we’re celebrating it in style!

We’re teaming up with the iconic honour to take over Kinselas for a huge night of bisexual+ celebration. We’ll honour those who paved the way and celebrate the strides our community has made toward inclusion and pride.

*What’s Biversity?* It’s a legendary bisexual party that started in 2001 when there was a ban on bisexuals in the Gay and Lesbian Sydney Mardi Gras. Founder Michael Wynter started Biversity because “there was no place for bisexual people to go in Sydney” (Star Observer, 2008). What began as a house party grew into a major event, eventually being endorsed by Mardi Gras and welcoming bisexuals back into the fold!

For this special night, BiCONIC host Bree Mountain will be joined by Biversity founder Michael Wynter as co-host! Expect to see original Biversity drag queen Pandora’s Box and DJ Flair spinning vinyl for an epic throwback set!

In 2003, Michael noted, “My impression is that there’s a lot of bisexual people in Sydney… but that it’s a bit underground.” Times have changed, and now Sydney is brimming with bisexuals. We’re excited to come together and celebrate our history and achievements since Biversity started in 2001!
