The Victorian Pride Centre is proud to host the Pearl Prize, presented in collaboration with Osborne and Fawkner Publishing and supported by Midsumma Festival. This writing award provides a vital platform for queer writers to express themselves and reach publication. We will announce the fifteen finalists whose works will be featured in The Pearl Prize 2025.

This award stands out as the first of its kind at an Australian queer arts and culture festival, marking a significant moment in the literary landscape. Following the award presentation, attendees can purchase the publication showcasing the finalists’ works and have them signed at Hares and Hyenas, Melbourne’s renowned bookstore located within The Victorian Pride Centre.
