Art Accidents & Underpants
November 15 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$25 – $30A cabaret inspired by a revolution. Join Donna Jackson and her musical friends in an event inspired by a time when gals playing in rock bands was seen as a revolution and dancing hard was the solution.
If we don’ tell our stories how will the next generation know there was a time in the 1980’s when women picked up guitars and set up dance parties all over Melbourne and across Australia. Donna was in a band, Nice Girls Don’t Spit, that was so popular they were able to fly around Australia performing to huge crowds of dancing women. This cabaret features stories music from this time. Not as nostalgia but as a celebration of a feminist movement which was ‘trying to change the world’ and dancing and driving fast and singing at the same time.
In Art Accidents and Underpants each scene is covers one of these themes a fast moving storytelling musical slam. All the stories are true. They have been put together to entertain you.
There are only three shows to experience this new work which will bring you to laughter and tears and dance into the theatre light stories from the 1980’s which have been hidden behind a curtain of time but will now revealed at The Kindred Bandroom.
