RETELLING FAIRYTALES TO A TEEN AUDIENCE

Some damsels don’t want to be rescued. Some curses don’t need to be broken. And some of the best happily ever afters won’t be found in storybooks.

Everything Under the Moon: Fairy Tales in a Queerer Light is an illuminating celebration of queer love and identity told by some of the biggest names in young adult fiction.

Join us for an author panel with Michael Earp, Amie Kaufman, Alison Evans and Jes Layton as they talk us through how they approached retelling these classic tales through a queer lens, to be rediscovered again by a new teen audience.

Following the author talk, editor and contributor Michael Earp will be hosting an immersive short story workshop, assisting budding writers in our community to hone their craft and learn more about writing, rewriting, and sharing stories with their own unique perspectives.

This event is for youth aged 12 – 18. The event is free but bookings are essential. Please book for all sessions you wish to attend.
