The 6th Geelong Pride Film Festival will be held from 20th – 30th April 2023 at the Pivotonian Cinema, Village Cinemas Geelong and Platform Arts. 10 days, 15 features, 50+ short films, Q&As. Come to Geelong for a fabulous community event.

The program this year presents a diverse range of LGBTIQ+ stories, genres and LGBTIQ+ experiences. Highlights include: the special screening of The Accidental Archivist and Q&A with Julie Peters; the return to the cinema of the camp comedy classic Best In Show starring Jennifer Coolidge (White Lotus), Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Jane Lynch and Parker Posey; the surreal Portuguese musical Comedy Will-o’-the-Wisp; documentaries In Her Words:20th Century Lesbian Fiction, and Esther Newton Made Me Gay. Other highlights include best new Australian films the sexually charged Lonesome (Craig Boreham) and the emotionally gripping Of An Age, can you spot the Geelong filming location in this Melbourne-made film from Goran Stolevski. Our Lesbian Shorts collection is sponsored this year by Lesbians Inc and we also thank our Trans, Gender Diverse and Non-binary programming subcommittee for their work curating the Gender Frontiers collection. This year we are Bookending the festival with are our signature collections of Rainbow Shorts and Happy Endings.
