Longlea to the Knowsley State Forest through Axedale with a pub lunch.

GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Moderate 15 km walk.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: We need to position one or two cars at the end of the walk in the Knowsley Forest then carpool to the start of the walk at Longlea. Leaving Peppercorn Park, the former Longlea Station site, we walk for about 2 hours along the O’keefe Rail Trail through mostly farm land and passing the Axedale station site prior to our lunch stop at the Axedale Tavern. After lunch we view the Platypus Compass and soon cross the Campaspe River. We then head into the Knowsley State Forest where we end today’s walk. After the walk, drinks will be back at the Axedale Tavern.
