With live music, comedy and drag performances, we’ll celebrate queer artistry and the Greens’ proud record of advocacy!
Greens in local government play a crucial role in defending LGBTQI+ rights. They’ve stood strong with the queer community as Melbourne’s drag storytime events become battlegrounds for inclusivity against far-right opposition.
Joined by former Senator and proud queer activist Janet Rice, meet our candidates for Moonee Valley City Council, Jodie Kinnersley and Declan McGinness, as they commit to build an inclusive community for us all and promote arts and culture in Moonee Valley.

The Lineup
Moaning Lisa
Queer alternative rock/indie rock/shoegaze band best known for their queer anthem “Carrie” (I Want a Girl). Renowned for life-affirming live shows and honest, personal songwriting. Moaning Lisa evokes the fuzziness of the 90s, the clarity of contemporary pop, and places everyday observations in a stadium rock context. ML have appeared on festival stages like Splendour in the Grass, Spilt Milk, Falls Festival and more. On tour they have supported artists like Mitski (US), Midnight Oil and RIDE (UK).The band will be appearing for a rare acoustic performance.
Tilly Capulet (she/he/they)
Tilly Capulet is a Naarm-based star drag performer. In a conversation with Star Observer, she spoke about the importance of Queer spaces, drag storytime, and the future of drag. Tilly, who has a background in musical theatre, first got into drag in 2011. Her inspiration— RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Raja. Tilly has become known in Melbourne for having political undertones to her performances.
Melissa Intent (she/her)
Melissa Intent is an up and coming transfemme drag artist from Naarm who loves to entertain her audiences. Whether it’s a high energy dance number or an emotional ballad, Melissa Intent always adds a dash of camp and comedy to provide variety and texture in her performances. She’s committed to her clownery and is an infamous yapper but she’s the overall package with a not so hidden ability to sing as well as lip sync the house down!
Sarah Bartolo- Host and comedian (she/her)
Sarah Bartolo is an actor, writer, comedian and singer based in Naarm/Melbourne. She has a knack for political satire and sketch comedy creating well-loved characters like grifter Venus GirlBoss Moon and is currently touring around Australia with her incredibly relatable and hilarious stand-up. Sarah enjoys Italian wine, fresh pasta and overthrowing capitalism and smashing the patriarchy.
Max Aurora (they/them)
Max Aurora is an intersex / non-binary musician based in Naarm who runs an indie rock band called The Southern Lights. Growing up in Canberra, they developed a deep love for nature, and work to tie that to their queer identity through the storytelling of songwriting. With songs telling awe-inspiring stories of lone travelers to introspective cuts of self-compassion, these lights will sweep you up like a breath of fresh air. They have a bittersweet indie rock dreamy sound. The band’s debut single “How I Missed Home” is inspired by one of the youngest people to sail the world Laura Dekker. Max Aurora will be appearing for a solo acoustic set.
