Meeting Room Guide

Welcome to the Victorian Pride Centre!  

The Victorian Pride Centre respectfully acknowledges the Yaluk-ut Weelam Clan of the Boon Wurrung peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present. We uphold their continuing relationship to this land, the land on which the Victorian Pride Centre stands. 

Catering 

The Little Social Cafe on the ground floor is available to deliver coffee to your meeting room. Please speak to them directly to organise this.  

There are also several local businesses able to provide refreshments and basic catering if you need. Please note that you will need to collect this from the ground floor, as they will not have access to the meeting rooms. 

Concierge 

If you experience any difficulties, have any concerns regarding cleanliness, or require anything further for your time at the Victorian Pride Centre, please contact our fabulous concierge located on the ground floor.  Their contact number is 03 7035 3592. 

COVID Safety 

This room is cleaned frequently; however, we ask that at the end of your booking you wipe down the table and all surfaces you have touched (e.g., remotes, whiteboard markers).  

For all general surfaces please use the spray and paper towels provided.  

For all technology (remotes, etc.) please use the provided alcohol wipes. 

For the health and safety of tenants and fellow visitors to the Victorian Pride Centre, please abide by any Federal and State Government regulations regarding COVID Safety.  

Evacuations 

The Victorian Pride Centre is fitted with an Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System that will sound in the case of an emergency or evacuation.  

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the emergency assembly area (information located on the wall near the lifts on all levels) in the case of an evacuation. 

The Alert Tone 

(Beep … Beep … Beep) 

On hearing the Alert Tone you should prepare to leave the Centre: 

  • Stop what you are doing. 
  • Turn off and secure all equipment if safe to do so. 
  • Listen for announcements. 
  • Wait and follow instructions given by the warden (red or yellow hat) 
  • Identify and check your nearest safe emergency exit. 

The Evacuation Tone 

(Whoop … Whoop … Whoop) 

On hearing the Evacuation Tone you must evacuate the building: 

  • Stop what you are doing and turn off any operating equipment if safe to do so. 
  • Close all doors and windows where possible. 
  • Evacuate via the nearest safe emergency exit (or as directed by the warden) and proceed to the Assembly Area. Do not use lifts. 

Kitchenette 

You have access to the kitchenette on the ground floor and level 1. Here you will be able to find cutlery, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, and water jugs; a tap with filtered cold water and boiling water; and access to a fridge. You will also find access to appliances such as a microwave, sandwich press, and more. 

Each kitchenette houses a trolley that can be used to transport items to and from the kitchenette 

Please return any used dishes to the kitchen at the end of your booking, rinse and put in dishwasher.

Lighting 

The brightness of the lighting in the meeting rooms are adjustable by holding in the light switch. 

 TV 

The TV located within the room is available for use for presentation and video conferencing. 

Basic Functions 

  • Turn on by pressing the power button on the remote. 
  • Press the ‘Source’ button to show the different input options. 
  • Use the up and down arrows to navigate up and down and the central ‘Ok’ button to select your options. 
  • To use the Apple TV, press the ‘Source’ button select HDMI 2, then press ‘Ok’.

Connecting to the TV wirelessly using AirPlay 

(iPhone, iPad only) 

  • Make sure the TV is set to HDMI 2 for the apple TV, and both the TV and Apple TV are on 
  • Select screen mirroring on your device, then select Boardroom, and enter the code on the screen. You will need to be connected to the Guest Wi-Fi for this to work. 

(Mac only) 

  • Make sure the TV is set to HDMI 2 for the apple TV, and both the TV and Apple TV are on 
  • Navigate to your System Preferences and select Displays 
  • Navigate to AirPlay Display and select your meeting room, enter the code on the screen
    You will need to be connected to the Guest Wi-Fi for this to work. 

Connecting to the TV using HDMI 

  • Turn on the TV.  
  • Plug the HDMI cable from the TV into your laptop.  
  • On the TV remote, press the ‘Source’ button. Select HDMI 1, then press ‘Ok’. 

Video conferencing 

The Logitech MeetUp video conferencing unit located under the TV. This is an all one web cam, speaker, and microphone.  

  • Plug in the USB cable from the back of the unit to your computer to operate this device. 
  • Select Logitech MeetUp in your camera menu or Logitech Meetup Speakerphone in any sound menu for this device to take over as the camera, speaker, and microphone. 

 You can operate the Logitech MeetUp device using the following buttons on the Logitech remote control.  Please remember to return this remote to the shelf before you leave. 

Adaptors  

If you require the use of an adaptor to connect your device to a TV, please contact our wonderful concierge who will be able to assist you and get your device connected. 

Please remember to hand this back to concierge when you have finished so others can enjoy this service.
