Glamourhead Sharks Swimming

About

Melbourne’s only LGBTQI swimming club, since 2001. A friendly environment for all who want to swim competitively or for fitness.

The Glamourhead Sharks were established in 2001 by a group of swimmers interested in attending the 2002 Gay Games. Since then we have grown into one of Melbourne’s largest masters swimming  clubs. We compete in local, national and international events and providing an environment for LGBTQI swimmers and their friends to train and participate in competitive and fitness swimming.

We are committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment for members of the LGBTIQ community to participate in swimming as a means to increasing their fitness, health and wellbeing. We believe in being inclusive of diversity in terms of skills, body type, age, gender, ethnicity and sexuality. We recognise the importance of providing a healthy alternative to the scene for social interaction and the active promotion of a positive image of the LGBTIQ community.

Our Aims Are:

  • To provide an encouraging and supportive environment for swimmers of all abilities to improve their fitness and swimming skills, have fun and develop friendships.

  • To present a positive image of the LGBTIQ community through attendance in local, interstate and international Masters swimming meets.

  • To support swimmers in competing to their full potential in Masters and open water swimming competition.

We are registered as: Incorporated Association.
