We are a private multidisciplinary practice welcoming those searching for acceptance, support and affirmation. Focusing on support within the LGBTIQAP+ and neurodivergent communities, The Courageous Space wishes to foster authentic relationships with you to breakdown worries and earn trust. Creating a supportive and inclusive environment is our priority. More than anything, we hope to affirm people for who they are and not what society depicts them as.
No matter where you have come from or where you are going, we will meet you where you are at. We provide the following services Face to Face or via Telehealth:
- Speech Therapy
- Articulation/speech: Assessment and therapy for speech delays and speech sound disorders.
- Language: Understanding language and using language to express yourself. This may include
assessment and therapy. - Literacy: Assessment and therapy for reading and writing.
- Voice: Gender Affirming voice and communication care
- Mental Health
- Our Mental Health Therapists (Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, psychologists, and art therapists) use focused psychological strategies such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, relaxation and stress management and skills development (problem solving, communication, relationship skills). They also use integrated therapeutic approaches based around cognitive behaviour therapy that are trauma responsive and tailored to the needs and circumstances of the client. Some of the approaches that may be included are: somatic therapies, expressive and narrative therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic approaches and schema therapy. We see children, adolescents and adults to explore and support your unique needs in a way that is:
- Neurodivergent or neurominority affirming
- LGBTIQA+ affirming
- Trauma responsive

- Gender affirming care can be implemented into all our services. Gender affirming mental health care can include:
- Wanting to explore and understand your gender identity.
- Having support to navigate your transition and how share your identity with those you wish to.
- An assessment and report to help you access the appropriate gender affirming medical care.

- Our assessment explores symptoms and experiences in affirming ADHD, Autism, Language and
literacy, Gender, and Mental Health. Assessments are completed by multidisciplinary therapists with comprehensive reports, provided for diagnosis by Pediatrician or Psychiatrist.
