Who we are
The Little Social is a social enterprise café powered by Youth Projects that brews the finest espresso, serves locally sourced food and exists to empower young people to lead meaningful lives by providing hands-on skills development and mentoring from industry experts.
What we do
At The Little Social, each young person is provided with hands-on skills development and mentoring from industry experts and is immersed in an affirming experience from which they can build their self-confidence and gain key employability skills and genuine work experience in a wholly supportive and judgment-free environment.
Along the way, our team support young people to achieve micro-credentials, like Barista and Food Handling certificates. Individually, they develop amazing work skills, social skills, improved personal routines and organisational skills. We especially support young people who have become disengaged from education, employment and community, and we nurture them with skills, opportunities, and hope–reaffirming our vision of young people being good-to-go in a very competitive job market.
Customers are also able sprinkle kindness into someone else’s day through our pay-it-forward initiative by anonymously purchasing coffee or food items for someone experiencing homelessness. An important element of our holistic, wrap-around connection to Youth Projects’ homelessness services in Melbourne.
Open Monday to Friday 8am – 2pm from 12 December 2022
