Conditions of Entry

About these Conditions

The purpose of these Conditions of Entry is to ensure the safety, security, and enjoyment of all individuals entering the Victorian Pride Centre (VPC), including visitors, tenants, event attendees, contractors, volunteers, and staff. 

These Conditions apply to all entry and use of VPC’s facilities, including, but not limited to, tenant spaces, event venues, external areas, function rooms, basement car park, and shared spaces. The VPC reserves the right to change these Conditions at any time without notice. 

In these Conditions, references to: 

  • We, us, or VPC means the Victorian Pride Centre, including its employees, contractors, and authorised representatives. 
  • You or your refers to any person entering or using the VPC premises. 

You must comply with these Conditions and follow the reasonable directions of VPC team members, as well as any signage concerning your entry and use of the Premises. 

We reserve the right to deny entry or remove any person from the Premises for failing to comply with these Conditions. 

 

Your Belongings 

You are responsible for your belongings while on the Premises. You must not: 

  1. Leave bags or personal items unattended. 
  2. Bring or refuse to surrender any prohibited items including, but not limited to:
    • Illicit substances
    • dangerous items (e.g., weapons, fireworks) 
    • Glass and/or aluminium containers, alcohol, or unless otherwise advised 
    • Bicycles, e-scooters, or segways without prior permission
    • Bags exceeding A4 size (unless needed for medical or accessibility reasons) and large suitcases 
    • Promotional materials or other items deemed inappropriate by VPC staff 
    • Laser pointers, glow sticks, poles or “Totems” 
    • Portable seating of any kind, tables, tents or sun shelters (unless otherwise advised) 

      3. Security checks, including bag checks upon request.   

    • Bag checks and security screenings will only be conducted if deemed necessary by security in extreme circumstances. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, suspicious behaviour, high-risk events, or specific security concerns. Refusal to undergo such checks may result in denied entry.

We reserve the right to: 

  1. Modify the list of prohibited or restricted items at any time. 
  2. Inspect and search you or your belongings in circumstances deemed necessary at any time. 
  3. Exclude certain items or bags from the Premises. 
  4. Deny entry or remove you from the Premises if you refuse to comply with these Conditions. 

 

Your Behaviour 

You are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully. Specifically, you must not: 

  1. Behave in a manner that causes property damage or compromise the safety of others.
  2. Disrupt the enjoyment of the space for others through inappropriate use of devices, including the use of cameras, mobile phones, personal computers, or other electronic devices, loud noise, or other disturbances.
  3. Behave aggressively, intoxicated (alcohol or any other substances) or display unlawful or any offensive behaviour. 
  4. Engage in disrespectful or rude conduct toward VPC staff or visitors. 

 

Respectful Environment 

The Victorian Pride Centre is committed to creating a respectful and inclusive space for all. We expect you to: 

  • Contribute to a welcoming environment by treating others with kindness and respect. 
  • Report any harassment or unsafe conditions immediately to VPC staff. Reports will be taken seriously and managed in accordance with our policies. 
  • Follow guidelines on respectful conduct, particularly during events and interactions with tenants or staff. 

 

Other responsibilities 

You must not: 

  1. Interfere with artwork, displays, or other items unless designated as interactive. 
  2. Smoke or vape indoors or within the compound of Victorian Pride Centre. 
  3. Enter restricted areas not open to the public without authorisation, this includes fire and emergency stairwell. 
  4. Bring and consume alcohol purchased from outside the VPC. 
  5. Bring animals onto the Premises, unless they are registered assistance animals. Dog owners must follow the VPC Dog Policy.  

 

Children 

Children under 15 must be always supervised by an adult (18+ years). 

 

Photography and Recordings 

Unauthorised use of cameras, mobile phones, or recording devices is not allowed in restricted areas without authorisation. 

 

Admission to Events 

  • You must have a valid ticket or pass to attend events. 
  • Admittance or re-admittance may be limited after an event has commenced.
