Nomads Outdoors Group – Lysterfield Park – History Circuit Walk
August 7, 2022
The area now known as Lysterfield Park (1,398-hectare) has been assigned many different roles since the first European settlement in 1838. This very scenic circuit bushwalk will explore some of the remnants of its history.
GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Moderate 11 km, circuit walk.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: This walk takes us along some of the walking tracks around Lysterfield Lake – one of Melbourne’s older reservoirs that is nowadays a bushland park. Most of our route is on well-made tracks – some gravel, some formed earth. We will pass by the site of Donelan’s homestead, the Boy’s Farm dairy and the Lysterfield Tramway that includes one of the best view points of the lake on the west side.
