Join us for a heartwarming and enriching afternoon at the Victorian Pride Centre as we celebrate Seniors Week with “An Afternoon with Friends of Dorothy.” This special event is designed to honour and support our LGBTIQ+ seniors, their families, and friends. Everyone is welcome to explore the diverse activities and services available.

Event Highlights:

11:30 – 13:00 – Interactive Activities and Pop-up Stalls

13:00 – 14:00 – Workshop: Preserving Your Family’s Oral History – Memory Lane Stories

14:00 – 15:00 – Private Tour of the Victorian Pride Centre

15:00 – 16:00 – Free Cake and Tea – plus a nice chat with friends

13:45 – 15:45 – Memory Lane Cafe (external rsvp required) – Lifeview and Dementia Australia

Memory Lane Café offers a supportive space for LGBTQI+ individuals, allies, and their families, friends, and caregivers affected by dementia. Guests can socialise and find companionship while enjoying entertainment and light refreshments. Trained staff and volunteers from Dementia Australia will be available for conversations and support. This collaborative initiative, in partnership with Dementia Australia and Lifeview Residential Care, creates a welcoming environment for fostering connections within the community. Attendance is free, but reservations are required. This event is open to everyone, regardless of age, who wishes to connect with and support the LGBTIQ+ community, particularly our aging communities. Whether you’re looking to learn, share, or simply enjoy the company of like-minded individuals, “An Afternoon with Friends of Dorothy” promises to be a delightful and inspiring experience.
