Melbourne Fringe Festival – EOI now open

huxleys performers in the theatrette

The Victorian Pride Centre is excited to host a program of events at the 2022 Melbourne Fringe Festival that connect, support and amplify LGBTIQ+ voices. A broad range of performances will be curated that showcase our values of pride, support, celebration and belonging.

These performances will cover a range of styles across cabaret, comedy and theatre from a mix of bright, emerging artists and well-known, established acts within the diverse LGBTIQ+ communities.

We are taking expressions of interest for performances to take place in our stunning new 100 seat theatre which comes equipped with a sound system, lighting and projector. We will be holding multiple shows in the evenings, with a run time of 1 hour per show (later shows may run longer by negotiation).

Our Theatrette venue hire fees for paid events at Melbourne Fringe Festival are $250 per performance or 30% of gross ticket sales, whichever is higher. This includes use of the room, A/V equipment, front of house services and a technician plus one tech rehearsal in the space at a time to be negotiated between the artist/producer, the Victorian Pride Centre and the tech. The Victorian Pride Centre will promote events happening at the centre however applicants will also need to provide a marketing plan.

Venue hire fees for free events will be by negotiation.

Applications will remain open until Fringe Festival registrations close (July 1st) however we will be programming shows as we receive expressions of interest so slots may fill up before then. Get in quick! Submit your EOI here.

Expressions Of Interest will be processed by the Victorian Pride Centre’s Venue & Events Manager in consultation with the CEO and Bookings Coordinator. Programming will take in to consideration the viability of the event and the diversity of our community, and all decisions are final.

The Victorian Pride Centre’s theatrette is a fully accessible venue.
