Pride Centre seeks new Board Subcommittee members

Board members and friends march at Midsumma Pride March in 2021

The Victorian Pride Centre – Australia’s first purpose-built hub for LGBTIQ+ communities – is governed by a diverse and skills-based Board, staffed by a passionate team, and assisted by a wonderful group of volunteers.

The Pride Centre is now seeking expressions of interest for additional members for two of its Board Subcommittees:

The Communications and Engagement Committee (CEC) is responsible for advising the Board on VPC’s external engagement, its brand, communications, marketing, stakeholder and government relations and sponsorships.
It is looking for up to three new members to join the existing committee members. The skills currently being sought are in the areas of sponsorship and government relations.

The Facility, Venue and Activation Committee (FVAC) advises the Board on all aspects of VPC as a community and capital asset. The FVAC’s focus is on facility and tenancy management, along with venue operations, programming and activation. It is looking for up to three new members to join the existing committee members. The skills currently being sought are in the areas of facility management, venue operations, programming and activation.

These committees meet bi-monthly and may have some ad-hoc meetings in between. These are working committees that report formally to the Board and aren’t merely discussion/idea forums. The VPC is seeking people who have skills, experience and the passion to make a difference to the VPC as it comes to life as a vibrant home and hub for the LGBTIQ+ communities of Melbourne, and beyond.

The Victorian Pride Centre doesn’t just welcome diversity, we celebrate it. We encourage applications from LGBTIQ+ people (and allies) of all backgrounds.

To apply please email contact@pridecentre.org.au with a cover letter of no more than one page and a brief CV.

EOIs close on Wednesday 15 December
